[ It's not the first time he's been in a situation like this.
Agents get shot. It's a fact of life, like kids' goldfish dying or snowmen melting or... name a vaguely depressing thing. But Jesus, it's been a while since Holly's seen anything quite this bad: blood transfusion, ventilator, IV antibiotics, induced coma, collapsed lung, bowel resection. And he's not holding up well.
Neither is Archer. Jesus, it's like when Lana was giving birth, or what it would have been like if she started to hemorrhage and lost consciousness and then they had to operate, or... something. Doubly so in that he's sketchy on the details of the whole thing, but, as he understands it, they're living together, which someone bringing in as much as Archer just generally doesn't do.
But hey. Not like it's any of his business, and it's a lot less of an operational impediment than when they were at each others' throats.
Holly sighs and gets up from the chair they dragged into the hallway, knees and back cracking as he does so. He'd better tell Archer before one of the nurses feels sorry for him and lets him know, because he's pretty sure he's more capable of restraining him than Julia is.
The doors swing open and Archer's still there, in the waiting room, looking like shit. ]
Mr. Archer. [ He waits until he's close enough to keep his voice down, because the two other people there, one of them asleep, really don't need to know. ] The latest is that they're gonna take him in for exploratory. [ Holly sighs, because he doesn't enjoy being the bearer of bad news. ] That fever isn't going down and their best guess right now is that one of the surgeons in Okinawa missed a piece of shrapnel or a laceration or something.
